Charts, Charts, Charts!!!!

Here is a link to my charts for the assignment....http://www2.fairmontstate.edu/users/jspires/charts.mht <----Notice the .mht file type: this is called a 'single file web page' I just went to "save as" and tried a few different file types until I found the one that worked fast and easy.........I used MS word and inserted regular old column or bar graphs. With the new MS word it automatically opens MS Excel and you basically fill in the information and do a bit of thinking and it's cake!

Image Capture

I used MS Paint for this....all I did was ctrl+Print Screen and captured the itunes icon in the instructions...then I pasted the image into a new Paint 'document' ....selected the "select" tool....outlined just the 'itunes' icon itself and voila! I saved my file as a "Monochrome Bitmap" it loses most of its color but is very quickly loaded on a website.

I can think of several ways as to how this can help with student learning...for example...this course we are all taking right now! How about his particular assignment or the one before with screen shots to assist with FTP and Online document publishing? There are lots of ways it seems.

FTP

I have actually been using my FTP space since I enrolled in 2004! Back then there did not seem to be a limit...I'm pretty sure it's like 200mb now. I use my FTP to backup every single paper from all of my classes. I tend to use a thumbdrive for transporting documents and have my "just in case" on the FTP space. Here's a link to my resume...I wasn't to sure what else to link to at the moment....http://www2.fairmontstate.edu/users/jspires/resume.rtf
Oh, I made my file .rtf as you might notice....tends to be compatible with just about everything from my experience.

Who Are You?

I thought I would put a link here for my "Self Intro Movie" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFyuiVsEXFY .....I gotta say this was a pretty fun assignment...I actually enjoy being forced to use technology that would usually go un-touched.

Whirlwind of Confusion

I'm trying to make sense of all this "new to me" technology...It is pretty interesting between the youtube posting and the SKYPE. Before all this I never had 10 open windows for Internet Explorer!
